Stop Guessing. Start Enchanting Smarter.
EnchantmentHelper transforms the anvil screen into a full enchanting workstation. Whether you're gearing up for the first time or min-maxing a full set of netherite armor, this mod gives you everything you need to plan the perfect enchantment strategy — right inside the anvil UI.
No more looking up "optimal book order" on a wiki. No more wasted XP. Just open the anvil and let the mod do the math.
Core Features
Applicable Enchantments Panel
A live list of every enchantment your item can accept, sorted by cost. Click the level you want (I, II, III…) to add it to your plan. Levels already on the item are greyed out. Curses are clearly marked in red. Clean, at-a-glance information.

Optimal Book Order Planner
Once you've selected your target enchantments, the mod automatically calculates the most XP-efficient sequence to combine and apply your books. It considers work penalties, anvil costs, and merge order to find the true optimum — not just a guess.
Two strategies to choose from:
- Least Minimum XP — minimizes the most expensive single step
- Least Total Levels — minimizes overall XP spent across all steps

Inventory Books Mode
Switch the planner to scan your actual inventory. It finds the enchanted books you already have, checks whether your selected enchant levels are achievable, and uses your real books in the plan — including merge chains (e.g., two Sharpness III books → Sharpness IV).
Hovering over a step in the plan highlights the matching books in your inventory, so you always know exactly which book to grab next.

Item Tooltips
Optionally display repair cost and work penalty values directly on item tooltips — either everywhere or only when the anvil is open. Fully customizable text templates.

In-Game Settings
A built-in settings screen (no external mods required) lets you configure panel visibility, book order display options, color themes for merge steps, planning strategy, and more — all without touching a config file.

Why EnchantmentHelper?
Vanilla Minecraft gives you no guidance on anvil costs or merge order. A single wrong sequence can cost you dozens of levels. EnchantmentHelper solves this with a clean, non-intrusive UI that slots naturally into the existing anvil screen — no new blocks, no separate menus, no clutter.
